Hi

I have a 55 gallon...and green algae has really begun to bloom. How many hermit crabs and snails is normal for this size tank.

Common hermit crabs are blue and red leg. 1 per gal. is the recommened ratio for the small to medum sizes. Snails are 1 per two gallon. I am not a big on snails myself and keep only sand sifting Cerith and Nassarius snails.
